Privacy Policy

This policy describes what the site does today. Where a feature is not enabled, it says so rather than describing something we intend to build. We will update this page before enabling anything it does not already cover.

Your kitchen photos

Photos you add to the Kitchen Studio are never uploaded. They do not reach our servers, and there is no code path in this site that sends an image anywhere. This is not a policy commitment we ask you to trust — it is how the software is built, and it is verified by an automated check on every change.

What actually happens when you add a photo:

  • The file is validated in your browser by reading its first bytes, not by trusting its name or type. SVG files are rejected outright.
  • It is decoded and re-encoded through a canvas. That step removes all embedded metadata — location, camera, device identifiers and the original filename.
  • It is measured in your browser: colour clustering, brightness, warmth, and the strength of horizontal and vertical lines. Those measurements produce your palette and design plan.
  • The image itself is stored in your browser's local database (IndexedDB) so you can return to the project. It stays on your device.
  • Deleting a project deletes the image data from your device. There is no server copy for us to keep, forget about, or be compelled to produce.

Because nothing is uploaded, clearing your browser data also removes your projects. That is the trade we have chosen: no account, no server copy, and no recovery.

Sharing a design

You can create a link to a design. The link contains the design decisions — style, focus, budget band and palette — encoded directly into the URL fragment. It contains no photograph, no notes and no personal information, and because a URL fragment is never sent to a server, we cannot read a shared design either. Shared pages are marked noindex.

Publishing a project to the public gallery is not currently possible. It would require storing your design on our side, which we do not do. The makeover gallery contains design concepts created by our own editors, each clearly attributed as such.

Contractor briefs

The brief builder runs entirely in your browser and asks for no contact details. Nothing is submitted anywhere. We have no contractor partner network and we do not sell leads. If that ever changes, this page will say so before any form asks for your details, and we will tell you exactly who would receive them.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation to understand aggregate usage: which steps people complete, which styles and budgets they choose, and which recommendations they click. The properties we may send are enumerated in an explicit allow-list in our source code, and anything not on that list is discarded before it is sent.

We never send:

  • your photo, or any reference to it;
  • an email address, phone number or postal address;
  • free-text notes you have written;
  • a measurement tied to anything that identifies you.

Project identifiers in analytics are one-way digests, and timings are reported as bands rather than exact values. You can opt out with any standard analytics or cookie blocker. We do not sell data.

AI processing

No AI provider is currently configured, so no model call is made and your photo is not sent to any third-party service. The analysis you see is arithmetic performed in your browser on your own pixels.

If we later enable a provider, this page will name it, say what is sent, and say what is retained — before it is switched on. Your images would never be used to train a model.

Advertising

Display ads are disabled in this build; no ad script loads and no ad slot renders. When enabled, ads will never appear on legal pages, nor at any stage of the Kitchen Studio — not during upload, style selection, generation, or on your results.
